In my opinion, everyone has their freedom to choose who he or she loves. I do not think that gay men show their physical affection would bother me. In Taiwan, many people hate that kind of things. Many people think that is disgusting. Because of the stereotypes, many people think that men should stronger than women. When I was in junior high, I had a friend who was gay. There were many classmates did not like, because he was a gay. I thought he had his freedom to choose who he loved, so I did not think he bothered me. We are in a new age now. We must change our old thinking. Everyone has their freedom to choose their love.

I have learned this poem before. I think we have many different choices in one part, but we can only choose one. It is really hard to choose because you do not know your choice is right or wrong. When we are choosing, we do not know which choice is the best. If we can choose all of the choice, we can know which the best is. I want to be a secretary or translator, but I do not know which the best is for me. If I choose to be a secretary, the outcome would be different if I choose to be a translator. I think no matter what we choose, we must accept it. We can not come back to choose again. I think we should seize the moment, and do not be regretful what you choose at first.

issue---smoking

In Taiwan, there are many people smoking. And now, there is a policy which people can’t smoke in public place. I think the policy is good for those who are smoking. Smoking would destroy our health. When you are smoking, your lungs would become black, and your respiratory system would become feeble. It is really awful. I can not image that. For our health, I think we should execute this policy strictly.

Issue---the dog

Recently, I hear a news about the wandering dog. This event occurs in a university. There are many dogs around the school. One day, a French teacher who was riding the bicycle in the school. A wandering dog was running after him. The French teacher was very scared, so he rode the bicycle faster. He was too nervous, so he fell down from the bicycle. Unfortunately, he bumped his head. Now, he is in a coma. Who has to take this responsibility? Is the school or the wandering dog? If I am the judge, I do not know how to do…

Issue----the panda

Recently, China gives two panda for Taiwan as a present. I do not think it is a good present for us. Our economy is bad now. The panda has to eat bamboo, so we have to spend a lot of money to plant bamboos. And also, we have to build a home for them. It also has to spend a lot of money. Many people are very poor, and they do not have money for their life. If we use the money to take care the panda, we can not help the people who are poor. So, I do not think it is a good ideal to accept the present from China.

In our life, computer becomes a very important object. Because of the invention of the computer, our life becomes more convenient. We can use computer to do our homework, buy something on the Internet, or play games. Many students use the computer to do their homework, such as Microsoft Office Word. We also can use computer to link the Internet so that we can buy whatever we want on the Internet. It is very convenient. When we have free time, we can play the computer games. Harvey Milk

After I watch the video about Harvey Milk, I feel sad about Milk. In the video, I feel Milk is a good person, and he is fearless. He can say to every one that he is a gay. He is a politician, and he does not care about what people criticize him. He just does the thing he wants to do. He supports “Gay Day” for gays. I admire his fearless. He does not care about what people say, he just wants to do the right things. About Dan White, I think he kill Milk on an impulse. Because they have different suggestions, so Dan kills Milk. I feel sad about both of them. Dan kills Milk, and Milk is dead.

Dan’s punishment is very short. I think it is not fair to Milk. I do not know it is about politics cause or what, it really unfair to Milk, and to those who support Milk. However, I really admire Milk’s wisdom and courage. He can do the right things for the town, and he is fearless to say he is a gay.

Can we cloning human? This is a big issue. It is include about morality problem. If you copy a person form you, you can not promise that person is you. Your feeling, thinking, and acting are according to your living environment. But we do not know where the cloning person’s feeling, thinking, and acting are coming from. Issue---about anaplasty

Now days, many people want to become more beautiful, so they go to make anaplasty. Some people think their eyes are too small, or their noise is too big. Those problems can solve by anaplasty. I think the outside looks are not the most important. If a person is beauty, but his heart is bad, I do not think this person is beauty. Whether a person’s looks is beauty or not, the most important thing is that he is a good person. So I do not think anaplasty is necessary.

In my opinion, I do not agree with medical testing. It is not fair for animals. When we have new research, we all use animals to testing. Although we can discover new research by medical testing, it is very cruel to those animals. Animals have their life; we can not destroy their life.

We can find other ways to research instead of use animals. Animals and humans are living creature, so we are the same. Now days, the science and technology are very advanced, so I believe we can find other ways to research instead of using animals testing.

Animal Protection Act

After I saw the video, it was really disgusting. Actually, I did not watch it all. It was really cruel.

How can people do that? The dogs are the creature as us, so we are the same. Although we have laws to protect the animals, but I think it is useless. There are still many animals be killed every day. Long time ago, when I was very young, I remembered that one of my relative caught a pigeon, and he wanted to eat it. I was scared, so I opened the cage stealthy so that the pigeon could fly away. My relative was angry, but I was happy. I rescued the pigeon. So far, I still do not know why my relative likes to eat pigeon. The purpose of this group want to protect animals, and they are a volunteer group dedicated to improving the livelihood and treatment of animals in Taiwan.

Although the government has laws to protect the animals, but I think the law is just for show. People still kill animals now days. I do not know the best way to stop it. That is still a big issue.

Whale Wars

After I watch the video, I feel terrible about the Japanese whale whales. The whales are very beautiful, but the Japanese hunt them just for food and money. How cruel they are! In the video, the Japanese use the spear to shoot the whales. It’s really hurt. The whale wants to get rid of the spear, but the spear already shoots into his body. The whale can’t get rid of the spear, and then he die. It’s really cruel. I am so sad.

Paul Watson and his group want to stop the Japanese. I respect them so much. They bought boats and equip, and tried to scared whales away from hunters. Also, I hope the Japanese government can fix the law. It’s really cruel to use the spear to shoot the whales. If someone uses a knife to shoot you, how do you think? It’s fun, or hunt? I hope this event can stop as soon as possible.

Issue-Movie "Chicago"

Last Thursday, I went to library to watch the movie with my friends. We watched the movie “Chicago”. But unfortunately the CD of Chicago did not work, I was so sad because I really wanted to watch that movie. The Chicago’s story was about six women who killed their boyfriends or husbands. Their boyfriends and husbands were not loyal to them, so they killed them. The movie was talking about Feminist. Men and women are equality. So, men are not just sitting on the sofa and watching TV. They have to help women to do housework. Some people think that men have to go out to work so that they can earn money to take care their wife, but I do not think so. Women can also go out to work to earn money, and sometimes women can do better than men. So I think men and women are equality.

Issue-Polar Bear

Recently, I watched the news about polar bear. The news said that the weather is getting hotter, so the ices of polar thaw quickly. When the polar bears were hibernation, the ices thaw and the bears drop down into the cold water, then the bears are death because they are downed. I think it's very horrible. Because of global warming, the weather get hotter and hotter. We must find some ways to stop it. Or maybe one day when we wake up, we already die because the weather is too hot or too cold.

UNIT 2

In your opinion or experience, why do some students chose to cheat? What are some of the different reasons students give? Do you know people who cheated in high school or college? (you can respond generally. I am not looking for names).

In my opinion, I think the reason of chose to cheat is that students are too busy or lazy. In high school, my classmates sat around me, and they always cheating. I knew they were too lazy so that they did not prepare the test, so they just cheated each other. Few weeks ago, I put my article which I worte in writing class on Jeff's Internet writing class. I did not know it's cheating or not. I though the article was mine, so I could use it every where. I did not copy other; I wrote it myself, so I did not think it's cheating. But I was wrong. The writing class and the Internet class writing class are different classes, so I should not put the same article to different classes. I won't do it again.

I think they can be allowed a second chance. Because everyone may do some mistakes, they need chance to fix it. I will ask he or she why he or she do that, and tell he or she it's not right to cheating.

The first artivle is about the birth subsidy. Because the birth subsidy is very low, they can not use it to take care their children. And if a woman is in maternity leave, when she comes back her job, then her salary must be lower before she is in maternity leave. I also think it is not sufficient to take care their children, and it is unfair. Women who have to breed so that we can have enough menpower resources, so I think women are great than men. There are many benefits from playing video games. When we have free time, we can play video game to relax. Some video games are puzzle games, and that can let us brain-storm. Some parents think that video games are bad for children, because their children just play games and they don’t want to do their homework. But parents can limit their children to play the games. For example, parents can turn off the power if their children don’t do their homework. Also, if children do very well in their homework or test grade, parents can buy new video games for them as a reward. That’s a good way for parents and children. Recently, the tainted milk powder event ia very serious. The company of China who add the poisonous material to other materials. That could make our health get worse. The poisonous material is a kind of chemical, and it called Melamine. Melamine is cheaper, so people who use a large number of Melamine to reduce cost. I think that is the worse way to reduce cost. No one want to eat the tainted food. I hope the tainted milk powder event can solve quickly, and no one is toxication in this event.

Issue-About Political Affairs of Taiwan

Recently, there are many political affairs of Taiwan on the news. The most terrible thing is corruption. The ex-president, Shui-Bian Chen, who is the worst in corruption events. He currupt large number of money, and put the money into foreign banks. I have never heard about that kind of things before. I feel very disappointed about that. He was our president before, so he had duty to manage our country; but now, he is corruption. The judge still try to find the proofs. I hope the judge can find the proofs to punish him.

Issue-About Greenhouse Effect

Because of the greenhouse effect, our earth get hotter and hotter. The reason of greenhouse effect is that there are too much CO2 so that the temperature get higher. Nowadays, the weather is getting hotter and hotter, so we have to find some ways to abate CO2. For example, we can take bus to work instead of drive car, or we can plant more trees. We have to protect our earth so that we can have a comfortable place to live.

I got a cold last week. My nose was stuck, and my head was really really hurt. The doctor told me that I had to take more rest and drank more water. I am better now.

Issue-About Child Soldiers

There are many child soldiers in Africa and Latin America. They are trained to fight, and their heart full of horrific violence. Their age are under eighteen years old, and the youngest childs only have six! I think this is very horrible. They do not have a good childhood. The armies use them to fight, and they just fight. They are trained like a kill robot. How can the armies do that?

They want to get the authority, so they use child to fight. Although I really want to help child, but I do not know how to do. The armies just fight, fight and fight. They are so pitiful.

For me, I think the study of humanity is a very important class.
We are humans, so we have to understand ourself by studing the humanity.
There are many effects in our life. For example, our thinking is one of important effect.
We have different thinking, emotion, acting. It is a kink of reseach that can analyse and understand our different thinking. Humanity also can represent human history.
For example, we can know when is the earliest person who was discovered.
Although humanity has no direct market-place value, but we can know the history of human that is priceless knowledge.

Typhoon Jangmi

Typhoon Jangmi lashed Taiwan with torrential rains and powerful winds, and it was the most terrible typhoon that I have never seen. The rains and winds were powerful so that there was an electric power cut in my hometown. Because there was no electricity in my hometown, it was really boring. I just lay on my bed and didn’t know what to do. Fortunately, after five hours later, the electricity was restored. I hope there was no one injured in this typhoon.

About Second Life

After I watch the videos about second life, I think this game is very interesting. In second life, we can do everything we want, just use our imagination. For example, we can fly in the sky, or create a world we want. If I play the second life, I want to have a pair of wings so that I could fly to everywhere that I want. The place where I most want to go are western countries. I want to know the history about western countries, maybe I could go back to the middle age to know their culture. This things sound not very good, but I really want to know the history of western countries.
